Lori: I knew I wanted to turn the January My Monthly Hero kit into a bookstore the moment I saw it. I started with a Gina K Designs Kraft base and stamped The Ton Haute Stripes background stamp on it with Gina K Designs Kraft ink. I then stamped the Hero Arts Bookcase stamp with Gina K Designs Jet Black Amalgam ink on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# cardstock, then coloring with too many Copic markers to count! I die cut the storefront from GKD Kraft, colored with Copic markers, then covered the window with a piece of acetate from the inside. The sentiment is from the Hero Arts In The Study stamp set. I used foam tape to raise the storefront for a little dimension. The finishing touches are die cut stamps from the MMH kit on Neenah
Devyn:The My Monthly Hero by Hero Arts is a great kit! You get quite a bit of stuff in the pack for a reasonable price. I love January’s MMH Kit because you can make really cute storefronts or an A-frame Chalkboard. I started with My Favorite Things Blue Breeze cardstock for a base, then Warm Cocoa from Gina K Designs for the frame and Gina K Designs Slate for the chalkboard. I stamped the sentiment on the chalkboard and heat embossed it with Nuvo Glacier White Fine Detail. I colored the flowers with Copic markers(yay, I have the numbers this time!): RV55, G24, RV00. The pails: C3,C1,C0, E23 (Handle). The wood crate is E57. I finished off by using a blending tool to apply the chalky effect with Tim Holtz Distress Picket Fence.
