Day 5: Altenew Floral Art

We’re often going to make cards with at least one of the same items on the same day. Usually, it will be the stamp set. Today, we both did our own take on Altenew’s Floral Art.

Lori: I love how versatile this stamp set is. It doesn’t take the precision accuracy of most layered stamps. It’s also easy to stamp a quick CAS (Clean & Simple) card without having to color. I used Gina K Designs Kraft cardstock for the base, then simply stamped with the following Altenew ink colors: Charcoal Suit, Heart Beat, Warm Sunshine, and Forest Glade. I added a small strip of awesome embossed cardstock from the 6×6 DCWV Silvers Cardstock stack.

Devyn: My mom & I decided to make cards from the same set and use our own style, this card really highlights our unique tastes. I took a bolder color approach. I’m a huge fan of pink and I thought this card reflects that. I started out with a My Favorite Things Cotton Candy cardstock base. I used Lawn Fawn’s Fancy Scalloped Rectangle Stackables to die cut my rectangle layer from Gina K Designs Layering Ivory. I got another piece of MFT Cotton Candy cardstock and used Lawn Fawn Small Dotted Circle Stackables die behind the flower. I took another piece of the GKD layering Ivory cardstock and used Lawn Fawn’s Fancy Scalloped Circle Stackables and die cut that and put it on top of the pink dotted circle. I then stamped out Altenew’s Floral Art layering stamp using Gina K Design Jet Black Amalgam Ink, with Pinkalicious and Mango Smoothie Altenew Dye Ink. Last, I stamped the ‘Thankful for you’ sentiment that comes in the set with Gina K Design Jet Black Amalgam Ink.
