After a little over two years of cardmaking, we’re finally getting serious! Today is day one of 2019, and our “Year of Daily Handmade Cards” – Yes, we will EACH make a card every day for the entire year. We’ll actually make seven per week, and post them every day. Sometimes, we’re each using the same stamp set with our own spin. Other days, we’ll just do our own thing.
Today, we each created a card based on a sketch and color challenge for a swap.
Lori: I started with a base from Gina K Designs Lovely Lavender Cardstock. Next, a layer of My Favorite Things Prestige Lemon Chiffon Cardstock using Lawn Fawn Itsy Bitsy Polka Dot Backdrop die. I made a banner with Sunny Studios Fishtail Banners on Gina K Lovely Lavender and Plum Punch then gold heat embossed the sentiment from Altenew’s Build-A-Flower Anemone. The circle is a Sunny Studios Fancy Frames from Neenah White Gold Cardstock. Last, the flower & leaves are Altenew’s Build-A-Flower Anemone using Altenew inks. I finished it off with a Gina K Designs Plum Punch envelope. This was actually pretty quick and simple. Altenew’s Build-A-Flower sets are usually pretty easy once you get the hang of stamp layering.
Devyn: I started with a base from My Favorite Things (MFT for short) Natural cardstock. I die cut the center arrow with Gina Marie Designs Stitched Arrow in the same cardstock. I used one of the basic circles from the Avery Elle Burst Die to cut the circle out of the orange polka paper. The flowers (Stitched Blooms – MFT) are a variety of MFT card stocks: Grape Jelly, Cool as a Cucumber, Orange Fizz, Banana Split, and Grapesicle. I carefully stamped the sentiment ‘Miss You’ from Brushstroke Expressions from MFT with Gina K. Designs Black Amalgam ink.
