Day 42 Card A Day 2019: Ink Blot Shop Arts & Crafts

DAY 11 THE DAILY MARKER 30 DAY COLORING CHALLENGE

Lori: Today, I wanted to keep it simple. I love the sentiment “I Arted” from Ink Blot Shop’s Arts & Crafts Sentiments, so I started with that on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# cardstock. I stamped the frame around the sentiment, then added the brush, paint (the paint blob is Gina K Designs Cherry Red dye ink), and paintbrush. For such a small colored area, I used a LOT of Copic marker colors! E15, E17 & E19 for the brush handle, C3 & C5 for the metal, N8 & N10 for the brush, and R35, R37 & R39 for the paint, blobs, and on the paint tube. I also used W0 and W2 for the lid, C3 & C5 for the metal on the tube, and BG11, BG13, & BG15. As for shadowing AROUND the things, yeah, no. I need more practice first! 🙂 I cut a frame from Gina K Designs Blue Lagoon Cardstock using Sunny Studio’s Fancy Frame Rectangle, and added these to a Gina K Designs Slate cardstock base.

Devyn: This card was easier to make than it looks! I’m a big fan of Concord & 9th and they just made turnabouts a bit easier by using the new turnabout jigs. If you are like me always going counterclockwise, this will prevent that! I started with a Gina K Designs Kraft base. Second, I used Concord & 9th Crafty turnabout stamp and heat embossed it at each turn with Wow Superfine clear heat embossing powder on My Favorite Things Tickled Pink cardstock. Next, I used the die frame from the Crafty turnabout die set I stamped the ‘I like Big Crafts and I can not lie’ with Versafine Onyx Black. I used Copic Markers to color the glue and scissors. The glue bottle is YR04 and B21 and scissors RV10, RV13, C1, and C3.

Day 41 Card A Day 2019: The Cat’s Pajamas This Could Be Vodka

DAY 10 THE DAILY MARKER 30 DAY COLORING

The Cat’s Pajamas is such a fun stamp company! We love their little critters, especially the sock monkeys. This set is one of our favorites.

Devyn: I love these animals, they’re just so crazy and really cute! I colored the bunny and the coffee cup with Copic markers. The bunny is E40, E42 and E43, the cup G00, G02, and G05. I used W0 and W2 on the tea bag. I used My Favorite Things Inside & Out Stitched Oval STAX to cut out the bunny and cup and the My Favorite Things Lemon drop layer. I finished off with a My Favorite Things Limeade(retired color) base.

Lori: I love this cat’s expression and it’s a pretty easy stamp to color! I used Neenah Classic Crest Solar White #80, as always, for my stamping layers. I used these Copic markers: E42, E43, and E44 for the mug, YR12, YR14, and YR27 for the cat, and W2 & W4 for the fish skeleton. I cut the piece with the largest Lawn Fawn Small Dotted Circle Stackables Die and cut a Lawn Fawn Fancy Scalloped Circle Stackables In Gina K Designs Honey Mustard. I added that to a base in MFT Cactus (a discontinued color)  then stamped the “But First, Coffee.” sentiment from the Ellen Hutson Oh Frappe stamp set in Versafine Onyx Black.

Day 40 Card A Day 2019 : My Favorite Things Warm Feathered Hugs

DAY 9 THE DAILY MARKER 30 DAY COLORING

Stacey Yacula is one of our favorite artists. She draws the cutest little animals and scenes. We love her Purple Onion Designs stamps, but we’re also glad that Stacey is now working with My Favorite Things to create new designs in clear stamps! Today, we both used a cute owl from the Warm Feathered Hugs set.

Lori: I love these little owls! I started today’s card by stamping the owl with GIna K Amalgam ink on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# cardstock, then coloring with the following Copic colors: W0, W2, & W4 for the ground and around his eyes, belly & shadows E15, E17 & E19 for the owl,YR24 for the beak, B0000 for the sky, YG63 & YG67 and V12 & V15 for the hat. I cut him and the frame with Memory Box Stitched Frame and used the inside rectangle on the stamped and inked layer and the Outer stitch on My Favorite Things Boysenberry cardstock. I put that on a base of MFT Gravel Gray cardstock. Last, I used Versamark to stamp the sentiment and heat embossed with Nuvo Fine Detail Glacier White Embossing powder.

Devyn: These owls are just adorable! I started out with a My Favorite Things Elf Green(retired) cardstock base. Next, I got a piece of Gina K Designs Kraft for a layer and stamped Ink Blot Shop Cable Knit Background with Gina K Designs coordinating Kraft dye ink. I colored the little owl with Copic Markers. The owl is E31, E33, E35, and E37, the eyes W0 and W2, feet and beak Y38, and hat BG13. For the sentiment, I used Gina K Designs Jet Black Amalgam Ink. I used a scrap of My Favorite Things Elf Green(retired) behind the Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# for the sentiment strip.

Day 39 Card A Day 2019: WPLUS9 Ranunculus

DAY 8 THE DAILY MARKER 30 DAY COLORING CHALLENGE

Devyn: I really like W Plus 9’s flower sets, they are very versatile and can be used simply! This card was pretty simple to make. I stamped the ranunculus with Gina K Design Jet Black Amalgam ink and colored it with Copic Markers. The big yellow flower is Y38, Y35, and Y32, big pink flower RV06, RV04, and RV02, the leaves YG25, YG03, YG01, small yellow flower Y13, and the blueberries B37. I die cut frame for colored flower layer with Reverse Confetti Stitched Square. I adhered it to a My Favorite Things Limeade(Retired color) base. I finished off by stamping ‘thinking of you’ Picket Fence Ways To Say Get Well with Gina K Designs Jet Black Amalgam Ink.

Lori: I love the WPLUS9 Beautiful Bouquets stamps. When a stamp set includes a ton of flowers and leaves and you end up having to mask them off to make a bouquet, it gets a little detailed and takes a long time. I like doing that occasionally, but sometimes I just want stamp once and color! THese are perfect for that! I also love that they’re detailed, but not complicated. Just simply beautiful. I gravitated to a couple of my favorite cardstock colors from Gina K Designs: Plum Punch for the base and Fresh Asparagus for the layer. I stamped the bouquet and sentiment with Gina K jet black Amalgam ink, which is amazing in that you can use Copic markers, watercolor, or colored pencils to color without the ink bleeding. No more trying to remember which ink goes with which color medium! The Copic markers I used: R35, R37 and R39 for the berries, RV66 & RV69 for the big flower, RV63 & RV66 for the smaller two, Y18 for the little white flowers with yellow centers, G21 and G24 for the centers of the pink flowers, YG63, YG67, YG95 & YG97 for the leaves, and W2 & W4 for shadows.

Day 38 Card A Day 2019: Ellen Hutson Book Lady

DAY 7 THE DAILY MARKER 30 DAY COLORING CHALLENGE

Lori: I love Ellen Hutson’s Leading Ladies stamps, designed by Julie Ebersole. I’m still not good at coloring them, especially hair and skin, but I just keep on practicing. I started this card with a base in MFT Coral Crush, then made a layer in MFT Blu Raspberry cut with Gina Marie Designs Double Stitched Inside & Out Oval frame (We stopped purchasing from this company – Ask if you want details!) Then I cut a smaller oval from the same die set, using the inside oval this time. I stamped the Bookworm Lady, book, teacup, and bookmark on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# and colored with the following Copics markers: BG72 book, Y38, R29 for the bookmark, R20, R22, and R24 for the sweatshirt & flower on teacup, BG11, BG13 on the teacup, B95, B97, B99 for the jeans, E11, E13, E15 for her skin, E15, E17, and E19 for her hair, and W0, W2, W4, and W6 for the grays and shadows. I Fussy cut the Bookworm Lady, book, teacup and bookmark by hand. I stamped the “That Just happened” stamp from Honey Bee Stamps Blah, Blah, Blah stamp set in Versamark ink, and the same for the ‘Plot Twist’ in the corner from this Bookworm Lady set. The foam tape gave the card some dimension behind the center oval, the teacup, and the book.

Devyn: I’m a book fan and I think this card reflects that! It was really fun to make and was easy to throw together. First, I stamped Hero Arts Bookcase on Gina K Designs Kraft cardstock and heat embossed it with Wow Clear Super Fine Embossing Powder. Second, I stamped ‘You’re Literally Amazing’ from the set Hero Arts Storytime on Gina K Designs Dark Chocolate, heat embossed that with Altenew Platinum embossing powder, and used Gina Marie Designs Stitched Ovals to cut out the sentiment. Third, I got out the Copic Markers and colored her skin with YR30, E31, and YR00, her hair with E99, E29, E97, her leggings with N4 and N6, her flats with RV23 and RV21, her sweater YG17, YG03, YG25, and the book E57 E23. Lastly, I adhered it all to a Gina K Designs Dark Chocolate cardstock base.

Day 37 Card A Day 2019: Pink & Main Pink Avenue

… And DAY 6 of THE DAILY MARKER 30 DAY COLORING CHALLENGE

Devyn: This Pink and Main set has the cutest house stamps that make great housewarming cards! I started out with my Distress Oxide background using Mowed Lawn for the lawn and a mixture of Mermaid Lagoon & Tumbled glass on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# cardstock. The house was a little tricky to color but with glasses or with a magnifier you can do it! I colored the house BG13, fireplace and steps C15, Flower center, curtains, and door lamps Y19, Framing E37, Heart & door R35, and Windows B0000. I used Sunny Studio Comic Strip Everyday die set to cut out the trees, clouds, and the sun out of my paper scrap pile. I stamped the sentiment ‘welcome to the neighborhood’ with VersaFine ink on Gina K Designs Kraft and die cut it out with My Favorite Things Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strips. I finished by mounting it all on a Gina K Designs Turquoise Sea cardstock base.

Lori:Why do I even get myself into these messes?! Such tiny detailed coloring that I needed to use magnifying glasses to see what I’m doing! I stamped one of the Pink & Main Pink Avenue houses with a mailbox and tree in Gina K Designs Amalgam ink on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# cardstock and colored with the following Copic marker colors: N2, N4, N6, N8, B00, BG57, E23, E57, G21, G24, YG67, R29, RV95, Y17, Y19 and lots of 0 – colorless blender! I die cut the circle with the largest in the Avery Elle Circle Burst Die. Next, I cut the burst from that set in Gina K Designs Wild Dandelion, and I made a base from GKD Sweet Mango. I added the sentiment to a strip of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# cut with a die from Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Borders #3.

Day 36 Card A Day 2019: My Favorite Things Gill Friends

DAY 5 THE DAILY MARKER 30 DAY COLORING CHALLENGE

Devyn: I love My Favorite Things! My Mom & I use a lot of their paper, ink, stamps, and dies. We love these fish! Since they are so small they’re easy to color. To start, my base is Gina K Designs Kraft cardstock. For the fish tank, I used Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# and distress oxide blended Cracked Pistachio and Salty Ocean. I die cut My Favorite Things Aquarium. I used Copic markers C1 and C3 to color the rock from Lawn Fawn You are Sublime. The yellow fish from Gill Friends was Copic colored with C5, C3, Y18, and Y38. The green fish is YG01 and YG03. I finished off by stamping the sentiment with Gina K Designs Jet Black Amalgam Ink.

I Sprayed with Imagine Crafts Shimmer Spritz for bubbles and some sparkle. Next, I cut My Favorite Things  Porthole die in Tim Holtz gold Metallic Kraft-stock. I cut a circle of the blended background out and glued it behind the porthole on a piece of wood grain paper from our stash. I glued the front to a base of Gina K Designs Sea Glass. Next, I stamped a couple of fish and seaweed from MFT Gill Friends stamp set in Gina K Designs Amalgam ink and colored the striped fish in Copic #C5, C7,YR04 and YR07. I colored the yellow fish in Y15, Y17, and Y19. The seaweed is YG61 and YG63. I glued everything down and inked the bubbles and seaweed stamp with GKD Amalgam. I cut MFT Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strip in GKD Sea Glass and stamped with the “Tank You” sentiment from MFT GIll Friends in GKD Tranquil Teal ink. Day 35 Card A Day 2019 : Lawn Fawn Thanks A Latte

DAY 4 THE DAILY MARKER 30 DAY COLORING CHALLENGE

Devyn: I know it’s bit late for a Fall card, however, Fall is one of my favorite seasons! This set is so cute and goes with the colder months. I started with Gina K Designs Sweet Mango cardstock base. I cut Gina K’s Warm Cocoa cardstock with Lawn Fawn Reverse Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Window die. I wanted a frosty background so I used Neenah Metallic White Gold and die cut it out with Lawn Fawn Quilted Backdrop. For the sentiment, I stamped ‘Happy Fall’ with Gina K Jet Black Amalgam ink on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# cardstock and cut it with My Favorite Things Essential Fishtail Sentiment Stripes and I also cut a slightly bigger one with Sweet Mango cardstock. I used Copic Markers to color my mug with Y35 & Y38, the scarf B000 & B01. The Latte art is Altenew Dark Chocolate Dye Ink and the cheeks are Altenew Cotton Candy. Let us know what you think in the comments below! We’re actually not even sure commenting is working yet, so let us know if it isn’t working, please!

Lori: Pastels are often hard for me, but I wanted to try something in pale peach and lavender. I started with a My Favorite Things Peach Bellini cardstock base, and cut the next layer with MFT periwinkle and both the MFT stitched triple peek a boo window and Impression Obsession Circle Cutout Border. I did very light strokes with W0 and stamped the heart with Altenew Coral Bliss. The pill bottle is Y38, YR16 and the lid is a light stroke of C1. The band-aid is YR000 and YR01. I cut the speech bubble from Neenah 80#

It’s also day two of #TheDailyMarker30Day challenge. Here are our projects!
