Thursday – Day 66 – Altenew Potted Plants

Lori: Sometimes I prefer potted plants to flowers on cards. Altenew always has some great greenery stamp sets like this one. I started with a base of Gina K Designs Dark Sage cardstock, made a mat from My Favorite Things Brown Paper Bag (sadly, a discontinued cardstock color!), Using the Altenew Cross Stitch Canvas cover die. I added two sections of frame in Neenah Creative Collection Premium Extra-Heavy 100# black cardstock with Altenew Fine Frames cover die. I cut a piece for the sentiment strip from the same cardstock, stamped a sentiment from the Altenew Painted Encouragement set in Versamark ink and heat embossed with Altenew Copper embossing powder. I stamped the plane in Altenew Evergreen ink, the pot in Gina K Designs Jet Black Amalgam ink and colored the pot & dirt with Copic marker colors E37, E07, and E09. The plant and put we’re cut with a Brother ScanNCut CM350. I love the flexibility of the ScanNCut over dies for things like this because you can cut custom layouts instead of piecing die cuts together.

Devyn: I really like these potted plants! These are great for a bunch of different sentiments. This was pretty simple to make. I started with Gina K Designs Sweet Mango cardstock base and stamped it with My Favorite Things Itsy Bitsy Polka Dots and inked it with Sweet Mango Dye Ink for a tone on tone look. Next, I stamped the pot on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110# and colored the pot with Copic markers YG06 and YG09 and the dirt E15 and stamped the plant with Altenew Parrot Dye ink. I die cut out an oval to put the plant on with My Favorite Things Inside & Out Stitched Oval STAX on My Favorite Things Lemon Drop cardstock. For the final touch, I stamped ‘Hang in There’ from Altenew Painted Encouragement on the same lemon drop as the oval with Gina K Designs Jet Black Amalgam Ink and die cut it with Concord & 9th Holly Jolly Banner.
