Wednesday Day 65 – Ellen Hutson – Snailed It/Thistle

Lori: I love these two stamp sets and how well they work together. They are so easy to just stamp without having to color anything, so they’re good for a quick card. I cut a base from My Favorite Things Chili Powder cardstock and used Gina K Designs Fresh Asparagus for the mat with My Favorite Things A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 2. I also cut the stamped layer with the same die set with Gina K Designs Whisper cardstock. I stamped with Distress Oxide Inks: The mushrooms in Pumice Stone, The slug in Hickory smoke, The tree stump and sentiments in Vintage Photo, and the thistle in Bundled Sage, Shaded Lilac, Dusty Concord, and Worn Lipstick.

Devyn: I really like this set, it’s really fun and easy to use. This set is great for when you’re short on time and just want to use colored inks! I knew what I wanted to do but didn’t know how to lay it out but when I was done I was really happy with the results. First, I started with a Gina K Designs Grass Green cardstock base. Next, I stamped on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80#. The mushroom tops are Gina K Designs Cherry Red Dye Ink and Whisper Amalgam, the stump Chocolate Truffle Amalgam, the stones Soft Stone Dye, and stamped the sentiment with Jet Black Amalgam. To finish off, I die cut it with My Favorite Things Stitched Mini Scallop Rectangle STAX.
