Wednesday – Day 93 – Silhouette Baby Cards

Lori: A Silhouette Cameo makes cards so simple! I chose the Baby Dresser Card by Lori Whitlock Design Store ID #204361. It’s such a cute easel style card. I used tiny brads for the knobs, and kept  the whole thing basic. I love using My Favorite Things or Gina K Designs cardstock. Both always cut super easy. You’ll have to play with the settings, but we always use the blade set to 7, slow speed to 1, depth to 33, and double cut.

Devyn: It’s been really busy here and Silhouette cards are the best for when your busy just load your paper, cut and put it together. This card is super cute and will be great for when one of my friends or family has a boy. I used Baby Boy Onesie Laundry Card Kit by Lori Whitlock File #24919 and used various patterned papers for the onesies.

Monday – Day 84 – Silhouette Cut Files – More Pet Sympathy

D: One of our fellow card swap partners recently lost her beloved Silky, Sparky. We had a variety of ideas but wanted to get this card out in a timely manner and its best to keep it simple. We were already cutting paw prints for another card on our Silhouette file #78094 called 10 Nested Dog Paw cut file from Sandi Idleman. I die cut the backdrop from Avery Elle Quilted Frame on Gina K Designs Warm Cocoa. For the sentiment, I heat embossed ‘Best Friends Will Always Be Remembered’ from My Favorite Things Critter Condolences with Gina K Designs Champagne embossing powder on Gina K Designs Black Onyx.

Lori: So sad that we needed to make more pet sympathy cards already! I made this one for my daughter Tawny’s friend who had recently lost her Golden Retriever. I love using the sketch pen, and this worked like a charm the first time around! I used Neenah Desert Storm Environment 100# cardstock for the base and Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# for the sketch/cut layer. The Dog Sketch file is from Cali Arroyo – Silhouette Design Store file ID #45970. I just used a sentiment idea inspired from a few others I found on the Internet and sketched with a sketch font – I can’t remember which font it was, forgot to write it down, and can’t find the file I used to make the card – which all tells you how my day is going! I used the gold pen – normally, I would NOT use anything with even a tiny bit of glitter on a sympathy card, but this just worked with the Golden. Anyway, the paws were cut out using the 10 Nested Dog Paw cut file from Sandi Idleman Design Store ID #78094.

Mon – Day 77 – Silhouette Cut File – Get Well Cards

Lori: I love the simplicity of this file. The Silhouette isn’t great at cutting out tiny dots or stitch marks, so a band-aid die set is now on our wish list! However, it’s still cute! I used random My Favorite Things cardstock scraps for this card. The base is My Favorite Things Blu Raspberry. File: #203185

Devyn: When you don’t have much time, cutting machines like the Silhouette is awesome because it makes card making really simple. The cardstock base is Gina K Design Red Hot. The bowl is My Favorite Things Blu Raspberry, the soup is My Favorite Things Latte, the heart is red hot and the spoon is from Tim Holtz Metallic Kraft stock in silver. This was super easy to piece together! File: #203176

Monday – Day 63 – Silhouette Files Part 2

CONTINUED from yesterday these two cards were made FROM the ‘scraps’ from the silhouette studio cards we made. When the file cut out the words and pencil we were able to piece those together on a new card front.

Lori & Devyn: As promised, these cards were made from the cutout pieces of the last cards, simply glued to Gina K Designs Black Onyx cardstock (Thank you) and Gina K Designs Turquoise Sea for the Thinking of You.. The pieces from yesterday were cut from Neenah Creative Collection Metallic White Gold and Champagne Pearl 65# using a Silhouette Cameo 2 with the Pencil Card Thank you file by Amanda McGee, Design Store ID: 274814 and Pencil Card Thinking of You, Design Store ID: 274813

Sunday Day 62 – Silhouette Design Store Card Files – Pencil Card Thinking Of You and Thank You

Life got a little crazy, so we simplified a LOT this week. We decided to find two similar Silhouette Cameo easy cards to make, and to work them into double duty, making 2 cards over each over two days!

Lori & Devyn: Ah, easy day today! We chose the Pencil Card Thank you file by Amanda McGee, Design Store ID: 274814 and the Pencil Card Thinking Of You file, Design store ID: 274813 We took some shortcuts with these file and will post a link to the tutorial on our other site, StashTrack (Where all our ‘how to use this’ articles will be posted), very soon. We used Neenah Creative Collection Metallic White Gold 65# for the outside, and Gina K Designs Wild Lilac cardstock for the inside on the Thank You card and Neenah Creative Collection Metallic Champagne Pearl 65# and Gina K Designs Turquoise Sea on the Thinking of You card. We simply cut these out with a Silhouette Cameo 2, glued together, and cards done in a few minutes! And tomorrow’s cards will be made from the cutouts in even less time! Be sure to check back then!
