DAY 7 THE DAILY MARKER 30 DAY COLORING CHALLENGE
Lori: I love Ellen Hutson’s Leading Ladies stamps, designed by Julie Ebersole. I’m still not good at coloring them, especially hair and skin, but I just keep on practicing. I started this card with a base in MFT Coral Crush, then made a layer in MFT Blu Raspberry cut with Gina Marie Designs Double Stitched Inside & Out Oval frame (We stopped purchasing from this company – Ask if you want details!) Then I cut a smaller oval from the same die set, using the inside oval this time. I stamped the Bookworm Lady, book, teacup, and bookmark on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# and colored with the following Copics markers: BG72 book, Y38, R29 for the bookmark, R20, R22, and R24 for the sweatshirt & flower on teacup, BG11, BG13 on the teacup, B95, B97, B99 for the jeans, E11, E13, E15 for her skin, E15, E17, and E19 for her hair, and W0, W2, W4, and W6 for the grays and shadows. I Fussy cut the Bookworm Lady, book, teacup and bookmark by hand. I stamped the “That Just happened” stamp from Honey Bee Stamps Blah, Blah, Blah stamp set in Versamark ink, and the same for the ‘Plot Twist’ in the corner from this Bookworm Lady set. The foam tape gave the card some dimension behind the center oval, the teacup, and the book.
Devyn: I’m a book fan and I think this card reflects that! It was really fun to make and was easy to throw together. First, I stamped Hero Arts Bookcase on Gina K Designs Kraft cardstock and heat embossed it with Wow Clear Super Fine Embossing Powder. Second, I stamped ‘You’re Literally Amazing’ from the set Hero Arts Storytime on Gina K Designs Dark Chocolate, heat embossed that with Altenew Platinum embossing powder, and used Gina Marie Designs Stitched Ovals to cut out the sentiment. Third, I got out the Copic Markers and colored her skin with YR30, E31, and YR00, her hair with E99, E29, E97, her leggings with N4 and N6, her flats with RV23 and RV21, her sweater YG17, YG03, YG25, and the book E57 E23. Lastly, I adhered it all to a Gina K Designs Dark Chocolate cardstock base.
