Day 48 Card A Day 2019: Gerda Steiner Gopher It!

…And DAY 17 THE DAILY MARKER 30 DAY COLORING CHALLENGE

Lori: I’m not a huge fan of patterned paper. Don’t get me wrong, I like it, I just like more hands-on crafting than patterned paper allows. Instead, I love patterned stamps! For this card, I used Concord & 9th Happy Plaids stamp set to make a Black & blue plaid with Gina K Designs Denim Blue ink on Denim Blue cardstock. I also used Jet black for the smaller stripes. I added the mat I’d made to a Gina K Designs Slate cardstock base. My gopher was stamped on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# cardstock and colored with these Copic marker colors: E33 & E35 for the dirt, G03, G05, and G07 for the grass, B00 and B01 for the sky, E15, E17, E19 and W6 for the Gopher. I stamped the sentiment in Gina K Designs Blue Denim, and cut the sentiment and border with WPLUS9 4 Bar Stitched Rectangles die. I cut the gopher with MFT Dienamics Inside & Out Stitched Square STAX, and the scalloped edge in Gina K Design Steel Gray with the MFT Stitched Scallop Square STAX.

Devyn: This gopher is really cute! The card was pretty simple and easy to put together. I started with a My Favorite Things Latte (retired color) cardstock base. Next, I got the coffee bean patterned paper from my scrap bin. Then, die cut the circle from Memory Box Pinpoint Circle Frame die in Gina K Designs Fresh Asparagus. I brought the latte cardstock back and die cutting it with Concord & 9th Holly Jolly Banner die and stamped the sentiment using Gina K Alamagm ink. I used Copic Markers to color the gopher E53, E57 and W6 for his nose. I cut the gopher out with scan n cut and adhered him to the green dotted circle.
