Day 56 Card A Day 2019: Altenew – Garden Grow

…And DAY 25 THE DAILY MARKER 30 DAY COLORING CHALLENGE

Lori: I love the quickly-sketched look to this stamp set, but I find it a real challenge to color. I wanted to focus on the stamped images, so only colored the background as faintly as possible. I used Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# cardstock for the stamped layer, then colored with the following Copic markers: E0000 for the pale ground, G0000 for the pale grass, and B0000 for the pale sky. The stamped images were colored with: B21, B23 for the butterfly, Y35 on the butterfly and flower centers, G94 for the tiny leaves, E35, E37 & E39 for the bench, RV91 & RV95 and R35 & R39 for the red flowers, BG15, BG18, E07, E09, E97 & E99 for the pots, C1, C3, & C5 for the can and small pot. I think that’s all! Whew! I just opened a new cardstock shipment from Gina K Designs, so I used Chocolate Truffle for the base and Skeleton Leaves for the mat. We’re loving these new cardstock and Amalgam ink colors!

Devyn: We always need housewarming cards ready! I thought this set was great for this occasion. First, I started with a My Favorite Things Jellybean Green cardstock base. Next, I stamped the basil planter with Gina K Designs Jet Black Amalgam Ink and then colored it with Copic Markers. I used E57 for the dirt, E23 for the basil sign stick, YG03 for the basil leaves and YR24 and YR27 for the pot. I die cut a frame for the planter using My Favorite Things Stitched Mini Scallop Rectangle STAX on Gina K Designs Kraft. Also, I die cut the ‘congratulations’ from Honey Bee Welcome Home die set in Kraft. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment ‘on your new home’ from Honey Bee Welcome Home stamp set with Jet Black Amalgam Ink and die it out with My Favorite Things Stitched Sentiment Strips on Kraft cardstock.
